Visting a Brewery During COVID-19
We are still very much in the middle of a pandemic, and your tasting room experience is likely to be very different from the days of yore. Under the current state executive order:
- Alcohol sales for on-site consumption must end by 11pm.
- Brewery tasting rooms are allowed to be open at 50% occupancy.
- Masks are required anytime you are not actively eating or drinking, even while seated at your table.
Due to the occupancy restriction, you may experience a bit of a wait to get in during busier times. Please keep your masks on and be mindful of maintaining 6' of distance from other parties while you wait. It will mean the world to the fine folks that staff your favorite WNC tasting rooms.
Also note that many breweries are currently not accepting cash, with some only allowing cards or requesting payment through apps like Arryved, available for both Apple and Android phones. Plan accordingly!
Remember the three Ws:
- Wear a mask
- Wait 6 feet apart from anyone not in your party
- Wash your hands
Thank you so much for supporting Western North Carolina's small and independent breweries during these difficult times! Feel free to send all updates, questions, and virtual hugs and hi-fives to updates@avlbeer.guide.
